Things You Can’t Measure…Sure Do Measure Up!

Are you still judging your worth in terms of net profit over the last five years? Don’t worry, your greatest resource is still intact: YOU! Football calls it “having the intangibles.” In an interview, Aaron Rodgers, last year’s Super Bowl-winning Quarterback and MVP put it this way, “Far too much weight is put on your height, your weight, 40-time, your bench press. The things you can’t measure – your character, your confidence, your mental toughness, your physical toughness – not as much weight is put on those things.”

In her new book, Insightful Player, author Chrissy Carew provides a tool that can inspire and motivate. The Insightful Player initiative helps to fill a huge void in the marketplace – that of spreading positive news and values to our youth.  The book features motivating stories of 32 current and former NFL players, all chosen as Insightful Player team members because they are individuals that believed in themselves and relentlessly pursued their dreams. Their success in the NFL is due, not only to their talent, but to their heroic ability to overcome life’s obstacles. These are the “intangibles” Aaron Rodgers listed in the quote above.  Intangibles make up the “it factor,” the “never say die” mentality with which Packers Quarterback, Aaron Rodgers fires up his team every time he steps on the field.

Chrissy Carew is a new friend – football brought us together. She has stories of 32 players, and I have 32 chapters. Both of us pay tribute to the 32 teams of the NFL. Here are some links to her terrific book:
