Football Inspiration: Get Your Passion, Folks, from the NFL!

Football is such inspiration…ladies, there is so much to LOVE about watching football, it’s not even funny!  If nothing else, you HAD to love Head Coach Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens being all fatherly, and KISSING running back Ray Rice on the head!  I’m telling you, the NFL brings out the beast in men, but it also brings out the lover.  Passion is Passion, people.

Whether it’s 35-year old linebacker Ray Lewis tackling some big guy and throwing him to the ground after 16 years of doing it,  or a head coach, arm around a player, kissing him on the back of the head, the PASSION is evident and there for us to enjoy!

Is it just the threat of “no football” hanging over our heads for months during the lockout,  that made the first Sunday of the NFL just the best day of pro football EVER?  Or is it just me. . .?

Yesterday had everything!  Baltimore killing Pittsburgh for the first time anyone can remember, and the Colts not able to score for the first time since anyone can remember—their QB, Peyton Manning, the inspiration for my book, is out indefinitely, having just had his third neck surgery in 19 months.  They were beat by the Texans, who were without their star running back, Arian Foster!  The Colts team did NOT STEP UP, and poor sub-QB Kerry Collins, really did look SUB-everything.

But the 4th-quarter comebacks by some teams were inspiring to watch!

And THAT’s what we non-football players need to focus on.  Millions of eyes upon them, players NEVER give up, even when the score says they might as well.  The concept of “might as well” does not exist in football, and we can’t settle either.  In this economy, every minute is the fourth quarter, and the score is piled up against us.  Some of you are doing 3 people’s jobs, since they are “downsized” now, and you are doing it for the same money as before!  And yet, YOU need to be the happiest, most UP person in the room—that’s your job.  That attitude is much more likely to get you noticed in a positive light.

Good football teams FIND ways to win when ALL the chips are down, and we must, too.  At the end of each football game, some team wins– no matter what.  In your game, it may as well be YOU.
